We are happy to announce the technical preview of the new studio overview page.

If you are interested in participating, please reach out to support@ftrack.com

This is a technical preview, it should not be used with live production data yet and a test account is therefore required.
We are still in the process of implementing features and have not yet finalised functionality, design and behaviour.

Documentation for the tech preview can be found here:
http://ftrack-spark-overview.rtd.ftrack.com/en/latest/

Looking forward to your feedback!

Our staging server is on version 3.4.0.rc1.4495

Do we need to switch to 3.3.38 now? Is that possible even?

That's what i did here. Had a testing server with a database snapshot of our production server that was running 3.4.0.rc. I upgraded it to 3.3.38 and after killing my browser cache the new version was there.

Good to know - thanks @instinct-vfx

Would be good to get confirmation from ftrack team that this won't cause any issues down the line (an upgrade downgrade).

That's right the up/downgrade from 3.4.0.rc -> 3.3.38 is fine and won't cause any issues for you

Hi Mira, we're putting together the last pieces now the 3.4.0 release and our current goal is to get this out in ~2 weeks. That doesn't mean that we will update everyone at once but if you want I can add you to the list so that you're one of the first to get it.

We've released ftrack 3.5 (including Studio Overview) and are making it available for some customers that are eager to try out the latest and greatest. There are a few things in Overview that we're still working on and hope to release in the near future before rolling 3.5 out to everyone. We are open to updating instances ahead of schedule if you are interested.

  • A better introduction to the new features and improved empty states.
  • Being able to the see the rough schedule from inside the project scheduler.
  • Being able to save filter and settings in studio overview to dashboards for easy re-use.

You can find more information about the changes in the release notes and the migration guide. If you want to be upgraded to 3.5, please reach out to us on support [at] ftrack.com to schedule an upgrade.

Regards,
Lucas
