Users Can Claim tasks defined by role

It appears that users claiming tasks is a global setting only.  

I am trying to define a role that can see and claim available tasks, while limiting this for other roles.

Is there a combination of role setting and this global setting that will be a functional work-around?

Can it be defined by project?

Specifically I'm hoping to create a team that can see all of the tasks on a sequence and self-assign from that pool of tasks ONLY.

Hi Andrew,

claiming tasks is a global setting, but would actually make much more sense as a permission.

So at this point it is currently not possible to achieve what you are looking for.

The only workaround I can think of, is disabling claim task and implementing it as an action instead. That way you would also have better control on who does it, on what context it is possible (a sequence for example where a group of users is assigned) etc.
