mov files gets overly compressed when uploaded to ftrack through prism plugin

Hi all.

We are trying out Prism2 beta and with that comes a ftrack plugin that connects to our project in ftrack.

It all works, but when were using the ftrack plugin in Prism2 for uploading media the file gets overly compressed. A lot of detail gets lost which makes it impossible to review model and shading details.

I tried uploading by just drag and drop from a folder and to the ftrack web page, and that looks less compressed, but still a bit too much.

I've looked through the ftrack Prism plugin and i cant seem to find anywhere where the compression might take place.

Anyone have a solution to this? Is the compression going on in the Prism2 ftrack plugin, or is the ftrack site doing it? Can we adjust it, skip it, or otherwise.

Hi @Jan Ivar Solås
I don't know much about Prism2, but In ftrack Studio you can configure the encoding quality from the Settings page.

System settings ‣ ftrackreview ‣ Review settings

If you want to publish using Connect , you can also take control of the encoding itself, overriding the encoding hook.

Hope it helps.
