Technical Support Engineer – West Coast US

We're on the lookout for a Technical Support Engineer to join our team in US. The ideal candidate will be involved in pipeline integration, technical support, and software development. This is a newly created role for a bright and enthusiastic individual preferably located in Los Angeles, California (we will consider other locations in the West Coast too, including Vancouver). 

The role requires technical skills to provide support and custom development for onboarding new clients, becoming a contact for queries relating to technical support, software integration, and other tech related matters for our North American market.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide and take ownership of technical support in North America
  • Solve support related issues alongside the Product Support Specialist to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction for existing and new clients
  • Gain a deep understanding of ftrack features and the comparisons of competing and related products
  • Contribute to the development of ftrack Connect and pipeline integration tools
  • Provide on-site and remote support as required
  • Assist in educating best practices and demonstrating features to prospects and clients


  • Minimum of 2-5 years' experience in software development 
  • Working experience in post-production relating to CG or VFX with strong knowledge of 2D and 3D workflows
  • Friendly and approachable personality with excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to travel to client facilities, trade shows and user groups
  • Capable of prioritizing and responding to queries in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with distributed teams
  • Based in California, preferably in Los Angeles


  • Experience and skills in Python, PySide and the ftrack API
  • Experience working with MySQL databases, preferably MariaDB
  • Held previous roles as a TD (Technical Director), pipeline or similar
  • Working knowledge of ftrack or other task tracking applications in a production environment
  • Knowledge of high-end creative software: 3ds Max, Maya, Nuke, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Unreal Engine, Unity, etc.
  • Exposure to working for a software company or production studio
  • Interest in Agile methodologies
