Den Serras Posted December 19, 2017 Report Posted December 19, 2017 I'm sure there' s an obvious fix for this and I'm just missing it. Can someone please point me to where I can prevent producers from creating sequences inside sequences? Seems like a no-brainer, but it totally breaks our pipeline when they do. Thanks! Den
Mattias Lagergren Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 Hi Den, I understand that this becomes an issue. As of now we do not have any built-in way to validate or stop the user from doing this. Using our api you could listen to and inform the user / alternatively correct the issue if it happens.
Den Serras Posted December 21, 2017 Author Report Posted December 21, 2017 Is anyone using this functionality? Shotgun and others have a more rigid structure so this isn't a problem. It seems like sequences in sequences could be useful but I'm curious if anyone is using it because you'd have to set up your file structure differently to accommodate it. Thanks!
Mattias Lagergren Posted January 2, 2018 Report Posted January 2, 2018 Hi Den, the object types in ftrack "Sequence", "Shot" etc. are flexible and can be modified or you could add new ones. I.e. you can have another workflow where it makes sense to have folders in folders.
