cameron.scott Posted October 6, 2017 Report Posted October 6, 2017 Hi Guys, Is there a way to change the visual order of the tasks as they appear under every "shot" or "asset" in the Project task view? At the moment it seems to be purely alphabetical, and for my particular custom view I would like to change the order to reflect production order to make the schedule pane easier to read. It shouldn't have any affect on any functionality, it's just a visual order thing. Cheers, Cameron
cameron.scott Posted October 6, 2017 Author Report Posted October 6, 2017 Ah. I found the answer myself here:https://ftrack.goodbyekansas.se/doc/using/understanding_spreadsheets.html#sorting-manually I have to do it for every shot, but that's ok. I notice that it's not saved as a part of the view but rather as information about the shot itself.
Mattias Lagergren Posted October 9, 2017 Report Posted October 9, 2017 Hi Cameron, welcome to the forums! The tasks should be ordered according to the order of corresponding Task types in ftrack. See System Settings > Workflows > Types where you can re-order them
cameron.scott Posted October 9, 2017 Author Report Posted October 9, 2017 Ah thanks for that. In this case we wanted two different orders for the task list: 1. When creating a task it's quicker and more predictable choosing from an alphabetised list 2. When showing the tasks in the schedule it's more logical to show them in "production order" But I guess that's why there is the "Manual Sort" option. You guys can't predict every single way we want the info, and this way we can decide for ourselves. :-)
