  1. Hi there, Being quite new to ftrack, I/we have had other tools to manage these "tiny tasks" that come up in a moment, need to be done in a few days and require just half an hour of work. Writing everything down into a single task like "arrange team meeting" or "find vfx marker documents and print out" does not play well with the well structured projects in ftrack - especially if there are tasks like "remind client that we talked about a possible future project" that have no real project at the moment. So what I am looking for, is a possiblity to have private tasks. They should appear in the task board and it would be great to create them from there as well. I think, in general, this could be a project that is just visible for me (this is how I do it right now), just with some tiny differences to a classic project: The project does not have/require a start and end date Creating a task must be much faster. As I do not want to open up too much of a new concept, you might probably set "default properties" for these kinds of tasks (assigned to: me, task type: xy, etc.) and just open up a window for setting name and due date. Probably you would like to clean up the project from time to time, as the list could get very long... So perhaps you'd regulary clean up the list from tasks that have been finished more than two weeks ago or something. I know that this could be done with Actions as well, but even an Actions-button is missing on the task board, so this would be the minimum helping me out there 😉 Best, Chris
  2. I think splitting up the task visuals into meta and micro categories would be great and allow for as much organization (or as little) as each individual user would like. For example: Currently there's only support for "meta phases" such as In Progress, Pending Approval, and Approval to name a few. These meta phases are seen by everyone in a project and they're a great and simple indicator for where everyone is and where the project is heading. This is working great for other artists and especially producers. However, I'd like to have a little more visual progression for my own work so I can see at a glance where I am doing well time-wise and where I need to hustle. In Progress doesn't really tell me, or other people how close I am to finishing a task, so having something like a "micro phase slider" in the ftrack app and software plugin with color coded values ( 0%(red), 25%(blue), 50%(yellow), 75%(orange), and 100%(ftrack green)) would be really nice. Once the task gets to 100% it would automatically be put into the Pending Approval macro phase and alert the relevant artists/producers. From there it would be reviewed and Approved or sent back to In Progress for changes where the progress bar will be reset. Your own tasks would always have the micro phase sliders visible and you can toggle on/off other artists' micro phase sliders.
  3. Hi, The new project Task board (Beta) is great, congrats guys! I'm really enjoying having a kanban style board in context of what you want to look, great for episodic projects. But I would love to see support for "views" just like in the spreadsheet. That way we could for instance filter all columns by a single or specific types of tasks. Currently you have to set one by one which is Ok but becomes tedious to do every time you want to focus on one department or type of task. Another thing that would be awesome to have is the ability to set user privileges for each column, that way standard users could for instance move cards/tasks up to the "Review" column and only sups could then move those from there to the "Approved" column. Keep up the great work guys! Cheers, Diogo
