  2. As a reference, here is the original design/research I did for ftrack v3. Not all ideas/features got implemented. /F timelogging-for-v3.pdf
  3. Hello community We're planning to improve the time logging in ftrack. It's accepted on our Roadmap/backlog (see roadmap item here: https://trello.com/c/vNEdfene) and we're now very keen to hear your input and feedback. Looking forward to your feedback. Cheers, Fredrik

  7. Hello Johan, I'm a Slack user myself and love using it for communication with team and others. At the moment it's not likely that we will create an official Slack group. Currently our channels are our forum (old school - but great for public and persistent conversations with current and future users), our blog and our social channels. But if anyone creates a slack group we will probably monitor it and add to conversations from time to time. Let us know. Cheers, Fredrik
  8. Hello ftrack community! I'm happy to introduce ftrack Go for iOS and Android. Link to iOS App Store Link to Google Play In this first version we've focused on the Project Management side of things, like seeing an overview of your assignments, easily change status, make notes and log time. First version renders best on a phone, but universal support that scales nicely will come in a few weeks (tablets/iPad). Assignment view Here you will see all your assignments and you can also sort them by Due Date, Priority or Status. Slide a card to the left to easily change status, Log a timelog or start a task timer. Click on card for more details about the task. From settings you can change the way the cards are rendered. Details view A shared view to show details on tasks, other entities (like Folders or other custom entities) and Asset versions (coming soon). Here you can read and write notes, create a timelog, access more details about the entity and see latest assets published (coming soon). Log time Easily log time on the go Timesheet Easily access your timesheet on the go. Click on a timelog to edit or slide the card to the left to quickly access tools menu where you can delete the timelog, manually add a new timelog for the same task, or start a new task timer for the same task. Projects Browse all projects. Tap and hold to bypass details page and directly list any children in the project hierarchy. What's coming in next version? We're already working on version 1.1.0 where we will enable you to see published assets and play/view videos/images (not a review system with annotations - see below). We will also enable you to see attachments on notes and enable you to upload images and videos to new notes. Next year we will look into having proper reviews in ftrack Go (or a native companion app) and a bunch of other cool features we're investigating right now (like being able to crete entities and assignments on the go). Requirements You need ftrack version >= 3.3.4 Check your server version Known issues iOS iOS 9 is currently enforcing strict security settings, and for customers who are hosting ftrack them self (local hosting) need to have https enabled and have a valid certificate. Android There is a bug in "Log time" when timezones are enabled on the server. Duration is 1 hour off, we are investigating this issue. Link to iOS App Store Link to Google Play
  9. Hi Daniel, I just want to follow up on this thread. We had/have a prototype for printing/exporting the Gantt chart, where we rendered the chart on the server backend using PhantomJS (a webbrowser with no UI) and then compiled it to an image or PDF. While that works we still need to make it production ready and unfortunately we had to down prioritise it due to other features that we saw as more important. But if the community weights in we might change that. Cheers, Fredrik
  10. Hi Stefan, to start with, the name PROJECT and ASSIGNED is confusing at best, and as recently as this week we've decided to rename them to "ALL PROJECTS" and "ONLY ASSIGNED PROJECTS" The difference: When assigning a role to a user that is of the role type PROJECT (or ALL PROJECTS), the user can still see, and access, all projects in ftrack, and the permissions that you've set for the role will apply to all projects in ftrack. When assigning a role to a user that is of the role type ASSIGNED (or ONLY ASSIGNED PROJECTS ), they will only see, and can only access the projects on which their tasks belongs to, kind of a restricted user and you can see the effect in the video I posted for Jonathan above, where they can only access, and see, the project they are assigned to. Maybe this behaviour could have been just a permission on a role instead. "Access all" or "Access assigned" (or similar) I hope this made it clearer. /Fredrik
  11. Hi Jonathan, Yes, but you need to change "Role type" to ASSIGNED. I've recorded a video showing how it can be done, let me know if it helps. Best Regards, Fredrik
  12. Hi Jack, Agree, we're working on adding checklists/todo's, and your attached screenshot is very close to what we're working on right now. We have a similar discussion in this topic : http://forum.ftrack.com/index.php?/topic/24-status-on-notes/ (I will merge this topic with that one) Thanks, Fredrik
  13. We are doing a prototype of checklists now, should have some more feedback about this in the coming weeks. We will consider all feedback we get here in our forum. But our goal is that checklists should work both for a supervisor to add to notes/feedback as a way of creating subtasks that's need to be completed (checked), and for any user in ftrack as a personal checklist. Don't hesitate to give us more feedback and feature request on how this should work. Cheers, Fredrik
  14. Hi Giovani, we have been talking about supporting other languages, we've got quite a few requests from Japan about localization. Right now the strings in ftrack is not organised in a way that will make it easy for a studio to access and change unfortunately. But when we start doing localizations (which we probably will do very soon) it means that we need to create a smart dictionary that might/will be accessible to change by studios. One of our developers in our Stockholm office is Brazilian, so portuguese language support would be straight forward Cheers, Fredrik
  15. Hi Nick, we prioritised this yesterday as a high priority feature, so expect to see this soon in a coming release. With that said, expect a "lean and mean" version of our first stab at this. Maybe we only support that one user can be assign to the task for this to work (in ftrack you can assign multiple users to a task) etc. Cheers, Fredrik
  16. Hi Nick just to fill in on Mattias answer above. This week we are prioritising a lot of feature request for our upcoming releases and we should have a better answer early next week. If you don't see an answer in this topic next week you can just ping me at fredrik (at) ftrack.com Cheers, Fredrik
