  3. Hi, The new project Task board (Beta) is great, congrats guys! I'm really enjoying having a kanban style board in context of what you want to look, great for episodic projects. But I would love to see support for "views" just like in the spreadsheet. That way we could for instance filter all columns by a single or specific types of tasks. Currently you have to set one by one which is Ok but becomes tedious to do every time you want to focus on one department or type of task. Another thing that would be awesome to have is the ability to set user privileges for each column, that way standard users could for instance move cards/tasks up to the "Review" column and only sups could then move those from there to the "Approved" column.   7. +1 to everything Sauce and Henrik said. Nothing much to add at this point except that this is a must feature since creating users with minimal privileges usually is not an option or even desirable.
  8. I was about to send an email to support asking for the exact same thing. Currently what I've ended up doing as a workaround, was to create a "Done" status and put it's order before the "Approved" one. So when artists drop a task to the "Done" column their status on the list change to "Done" and not "Approved". You probably could do the same thing by changing the correspondence of the "Pending Review" status to "Done" and then put it's order to before the "Approved" one there. But this messes with the dashboard stuff and project progress fields since tasks set "Pending Review" (or Done in my case) are seen internally as "Done" and not as "In Progress" anymore. But I'm willing to pay that price for now.
  9. It would be great if Ftrack would allow us to customise the mail notifications from top to bottom. Currently it's near to impossible to keep the notifications you get in your inbox in context of other messages for a project coming from elsewhere trough filtering. [HOST] Would yield a the first component of the ftrack host. This would be useful for people present in multiple ftrack instances from different companies. [PROJECT SHORTNAME] This would allow messages to be filtered and labeled inside mail applications along messages coming from elsewhere in the company that follow a standard. Here we usually prepend email subjects with the short name of a project between brackets. These two alone in the subject would make for better less generic notifications and would allow people to have messages being filtered easily inside their email apps and matching their own company or personal standards. Things like: [HOTS] [<PROJECT_SHORTNAME>] [Task Assigned: <USERNAME>] <TASK NAME> [HOTS] [<PROJECT_SHORTNAME>] [Task Updated] <TASK NAME> [HOTS] [<PROJECT_SHORTNAME>] [Note from: <USERNAME>] on <ENTITY NAME> [HOTS] [<PROJECT_SHORTNAME>] [New message from: <USERNAME>] [HOTS] [<PROJECT_SHORTNAME>] [status Update] <ENTITY NAME> from <STATUS> to <STATUS> [HOTS] [<PROJECT_SHORTNAME>] [New Version] <Version Name> etc...

  14. The other day I was wondering how Ftrack would handle a situation where two or more people edit the same "entity" at the same time. And for what I understand the last one to hit save would be the one to have it's data kept. Granted that the "activities" tab for each entity would be enough to get things sorted, but sometimes things go by unnoticed causing problems down the road. So perhaps it would be really cool if Ftrack had a real time visual cue to let people know that someone else is editing a certain field at that very moment. Something like Google Docs has when you have multiple collaborators working on a single document. A field lock while someone else is editing would be a plus I think. This would ensure data isn't wrongly overdid and force a dialog between parts when this situations arise. Does it make any sense or am I tripping? Cheers,Diogo
  15. I must say that I'm all for it but I'm not too fond about the idea of allowing font selection in notes. Also file linking should be somehow limited to try to enforce a standard approach, otherwise people get really creative and things become unpredictable.
  16. Hi, I miss a additional path option for the Disks settings to differentiate OSX, Linux and Windows paths. Currently all of our Linux boxes use "/mnt/" as a mount point, and even though we could change some of our OSX boxes to match this, not having the option to specify OSX specific paths means that some personal computers (of directors. producers, etc) would require some IT love before being able to make some use of certain features from Ftrack. Something that isn't always feasible. So ideally we would leave OSX with it's standard mount point "/Volumes/" and Ftrack would be able to translate those between Linux "/mnt/" and WIndows "X:/". Changing the Linux boxes to match the "/Volumes/" isn't much of an option for us because they usually run Flame/Smoke and things would probably get messy.
